Solstice Arts Centre, Navan, Co. Meath, provides regular events & activities for children including Kids theatre, art, dance, music and drama events. Regular activities include a youth theatre, ballet class, parent & toddler group, and speech & drama class. Regular childrens summer camps, workshops and free learning and participation events are also programmed each season.

Solstice Mini Artists

Age 5 - 11 Years - Calling all budding artists! Join artist and educator Eimear Murphy for a creative exploration of our Summer exhibition I send my love along the Boyne. As well as partaking in a hands-on creative workshop each week, children will use the artworks and exhibition for inspiration, engaging in discussion and learning with Eimear in the gallery space. A variety of mediums will be explored throughout this series including drawing, sculpture, and light. These workshops are designed to promote creativity, understanding and artistic skill amongst children. Duration 60 minutes.

Summer Project - Act Out Youth Theatre

Age 13+ - Act Out, Meath’s fastest-growing youth theatre, is excited to announce a 3 Day Summer Project which is open to new and existing members and will cover a wide range of topics from developing basic performance techniques to casting workshops. Facilitated by Anthony Kinahan, Artistic Director of Act Out Youth Theatre and experienced members of the Act Out team, previous performance experience is useful, but not essential. DigiTales by CreateSchool

Age 10+ - We all love a good story! Especially in Ireland - it’s in our DNA! Combine this with the amazing possibilities that modern technology enables and you have Digital Storytelling - or as we like to call it - DigiTales! Through a programme of collaboration, critical thinking and creativity, Createschool (creators of BRICKFLICKS) teach kids to make art and tell stories with mobile digital technology. They can share their stories, realise their ideas and gain lots of new skills in stop motion animation, digital music making, photography & video, podcasting and more. All materials and equipment are supplied (including iPads). For personal hygiene, we would ask participants to bring their own headphones.

Ballet Ireland Summer School 2019

Age 6 – 18 years - Ballet Ireland’s ever-popular summer school gives young participants a taste of what it’s really like to work as a professional ballet dancer. Each day starts with class on stage with Ballet Ireland’s professional dancers. Participants will have an unforgettable time working with dancers creating their very own ballet complete with props, designing their costumes and performing for friends and family at the end of the week. This programme is suitable for boys and girls, some previous dance training useful, but not essential.

Magical Toadstool Summer Camp

Age 6 – 10 Years - Join Trisha from Creative Genie to design, build and sculpt a magical toadstool house with flickering fairy light, fairy furniture, and your very own forest fairy. Discover new painting and crafting skills with special effects that can be applied to a host of future craft projects. Each child will take away their own special creations and a range of new skills from moulding and weaving to paint effects and much more. Places are limited to ensure each child gets plenty of help and instruction. Children under 6 are welcome with an adult to help. Old clothes, a drink, and small snack are advisable, all materials provided.

Adult and Child Fairy House Workshop

Why not do something special before the school run starts again? How about a day of creative fun, an end of summer treat for you and your child to enjoy together? Join Trisha from Creative Genie to make a real stone fairy house with miniature furniture inside and have an experience you'll both treasure as much as your creations! The finished houses can be placed outdoors, sparking your child's imagination to construct an accompanying fairy garden, offering hours of creative play. This one-off parent and child workshop will give you both the chance to learn new skills and create special memories.
