An Autism Friendly Screening of Disney’s mega hit Frozen (Sing-Along version) added to WINTERIFIC! Famly Fun Day at Solstice Arts Centre

Solstice Arts Centre has announced a new initiative in consultation with Meath Autism Network to introduce Autism Friendly Screenings of their children’s movies, beginning with a special screening of Disney’s Frozen.

On Sunday 11th December, Solstice will celebrate WINTERIFIC!, an annual family fun day full of free activities for children, including winter crafts, facepainting, festive music and goodies. Also taking place on the day is a sold out screening of a sing-along & dress up version of Disney’s Frozen.

Solstice has now added an Autism Friendly Screening of the Disney mega hit that has enthralled children (and driven parents up the walls) for the past three years. Starting at 11:30, the screening will consist of small changes to the atmosphere of the theatre to make the experience easier on children with autism, including leaving the lights on a low setting, lowering the volume of the film slightly and reducing the capacity to allow for movement during the screening. Solstice Arts Centre will also work with families to include individual requests  wherever possible.

Solstice Arts Centre’s WINTERIFC! Family Fun Day takes place from 11:00am – 2:00pm on Sunday 11th December, with the Autism Friendly Screening of Frozen starting at 11:30am. Tickets are €4 and can be booked online HERE or on 046 909 2300.
