In the second concert of their music residency at Solstice, contemporary folk band This is How we Fly present a memorable night of new music inspired by Solstice and the areas around it, composed while in residence in Meath. Caoimhín, Seán, Nic and Petter will be interviewed by multi-award-winning journalist, broadcaster and author Tony Clayton-Lea before debuting the fledgeling strands of their third album, which is to be recorded at Solstice in 2019. Tickets to the event include a buffet of local foods from our favourite Boyne Valley providers.


Painting with Light & Night Photography

Photograms: Capturing Shadows - Family Workshop

Taking inspiration from our exhibition LUX, children and adults will create their very own photograms by capturing the shadow of their compositions on photographic paper. This is a camera-less process where participants are invited to bring small objects such as plants and photographic negatives to create their unique artworks. You will learn about the invention of the moving image and have the opportunity to see and play with the artist’s collection of optical toys.
